QUEST & Dare Devil Dillo

Flugtag

A German word for, "Flying Day," it has been taken up as a marketing promotion for Red Bull energy drink. They host a sorta competition / performance / disaster all across the country. In 2003 they came to Austin and a long time group of constantly changing friends rose to the challenge. QUEST (Quasi United Explorers Seeking Thrills) has been doing things together for over 20 years: costume parties, haunted houses, historical reenactment, ski trips, dive trips, etc.

This QUEST is

Greg D Riss E  JB Jake A Paul
Richard G  Kelly  Jim G D Steve
Mark B Gary C  Laurie Scott J Robin M
Maureen M Shawn Dave M
 Tom K Dale F  Jim S Brennan  Melissa V

If I have forgotten anyone, please contact JB, ASAP.

You can check out the event here and get details on our entry here. There are 45 other entries, check em out.

While the QUEST team is talented and is most of the financial backing, it is the truly amazing resources and tools available at Custom Creation that are allowing us to make the Dillo. The large shop has more than enough room to build a nine foot tall structure with a huge wing (shell?) span. If you need something you've imagined turned into a real structure, check out Custom Creation.

It's over! QUEST earned 49 points to end up in 11th place. Not bad for being the first ones off the runway with a field of 42 teams to follow. The Dillo is in good enough shape to fly again, in fact we could have flown many times during the competition. We needed no repairs.
